Jim's news - September 2011

Jim Haynes

Hi Everyone,

I hope this bulletin finds you all happy and optimistic as springtime hits us Aussies!

What a busy time it has been!

Rustling Russel and myself headed up to the 30th Gympie Music Muster to do a special concert on the Sunday. It was really wonderful of the organisers to ask me back to celebrate with them and to be recognised for my contribution to establishing their morning shows all those years ago and hosting so many ABC TV Muster Specials.

The concert was a great success. We had young Katelyn O'Donoghue and her brother Liam as special guests and we launched the NEW double CD collection of material recorded over the past 20 years while we were at the Muster. the media release and track listing are elsewhere on the website and you can but the double CD mail order for just $29 postage paid.

It was the end of an era for me when I decided not to seek re election for another term on the Board of the CMAA after 15 years. We have managed to survive through all the problems of the past few years and I feel now is the time to let others take us into the new era as I have decided to make a NEW album in 2012 and have so many projects on the go.

I have the utmost respect for my fellow board members and will continue to do anything I can to support the CMAA. No one knows how tough it has been to see the association through the past few years and the board have done an amazing job to carry it through - but all is looking great now and the future looks better than ever.

Coming up in October are INVERELL'S GOT TALENT and the QUEENSLAND CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS finals in Brisbane.

We are really looking forward to the Country Music Cruise in November and the 40th TAMWORTH FESTIVAL!

BIG news about The Big Bush Brekky and a NEW SHOW soon!!

Don't forget ...you can join us on MAGICAL NORFOLK ISLAND in May 2012.

Cheers, Jim
