ON THE ROAD

• We have had a great visit to Whyalla for the CMCA Rally recently. Amber Lawrence came along and we survived the heat and had a great time. I really enjoyed the workshops I conducted on Writing and Performing Verse and the feedback was sensational! Love those GREY NOMADS! In fact I am writing a book called 'How To Be A Grey Nomad'!

• The Port Fairy Festival was WONDERFUL as always! Greg North and Melanie Dyer helped out with the Aussie Morning Shows and the crowds were terrific.

•The MOST pleasing thing for me about Port Fairy this year was the success of the two Banjo Paterson workshops and the tribute concert. The Hall was FULL for Dennis O'Keefe's fascinating lecture on the history of the song, Waltzing Matilda and again for a talk Dennis and I gave on the lesser known aspects of Banjo's life. The concert featuring Greg North reciting all the famous poems and Greg Champion, Dennis O'Keefe, Rob Fairbairn and Melanie Dyer singing Banjo's works set to music was a GREAT SUCCESS. St Patrick's Hall was packed and the audience of 400 loved every minute.

• The Pat Glover Memorial Storytelling drew a good entry and a great crowd and it was great to have Pat's daughter and other family members present.

• Easter is a great time for racing fans and of course it's the Easter Show in Sydney. We have had lots of fun talking about the show and racing history on 2UE recently.

• Back to SOUTH AUSTRALIA again after Easter for the Melrose Festival - they are trying out having a 'Big Bush Brekky' show and Russell and Melanie are with me for the morning show, then I'll host the big concert at night with Lee Kernaghan, Sunny Cowgirls, Steve Forde, Jasmine Rae and other great country acts.

COMING SHOWS:

• JULY 18 and 19 - We are BACK to TAMWORTH  for the 'HAT'S OFF' Festival … TWO big shows with regular BIG BUSH BREKKY crew PADDY RYAN, DARREN CARR and MELANIE DYER!

Hope to see you somewhere soon,
Jim
